How are Granny Meals packaged?

Granny Meals are packaged in plastic trays with heat sealed microperforated film before going into a blast freezer.

What's a blast freezer?

A blast freezer is a powerful freezer that circulates extremely cold air to flash freeze foods.  This is very different than your freezer at home.  Flash freezing foods does not allow ice crystals to form in the fibers of food preserving nutrients, moisture and taste without additional preservatives to maintain quality.

How long are Granny Meals good for?

Granny Meals can be stored frozen for serveral months or in the refrigerator after defrosting for 3-4 days.

How do I reheat my Granny Meals?

It is best to allow your Granny Meal to defrost in the refrigerator then they can be reheated in the microwave for 3-4 minutes with the film vented.  It is good to stir 1/2 way through the reheating process.  If you haven't defrosted your meal in advance, it can be defrosted in the microwave at 30% power for 3-4 minutes then reheated.  Meals can also reheated in an oven at 350 degrees when placed on a cookie sheet with or without the film in place.

Can I pick up my Granny Meals instead of delivery?

Absolutely!  Weekly specials are made fresh, Thursday mornings for pick up that afternoon 2-6 pm.
